Severe service conditions can be encountered during the exploration and production of oil and gas. The presence of H2S, CO2, condensates, hydrocarbon solvents, acids and other chemicals present in the drilling and production fluid breaks down conventional lubricants, and “leaches” them out of the valve cavity.
